Unity Patriots clear first hurdle in best-of-the-rest finals of Constituency #7 Domino League

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, November 4, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — The battle for the best-of-the-rest championship’s title of the 24th annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League started in earnest last evening (Sunday November 3) at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project.

Past champions Unity Patriots Domino Club are facing Small Corner Bar Domino Club in a best of two games finals, and in their first encounter last evening Unity Patriots emerged victorious winning 13 games against Small Corner Bar’s 5 games.

Small Corner Bar won the first game from table one, but Unity Patriots equalised with a game from table two. The past champions surged ahead when from table one Desmond ‘Fergie’ Rawlins and Allington Berridge of Unity Patriots attained 100 points before their opponents could win a single point, hence earning a bonus game for an early 3-1 lead.

The same pair got another bonus game later in the match to send the scores to 9-3 in favour of Unity. In total Unity Patriots won six games from table two, and seven games from table one, while Small Corner Bar won four games from table one, and one game from table two, for a decisive 13-5 win by Unity Patriots.

The two teams will meet on Wednesday November 6 at 7:30 pm at the same venue for the second game in a best of two finals. If Unity Patriots win from that encounter, they will be declared the new Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League best-of-the-rest champions.

However, should Small Corner Bar win and tie the games at 1-1, a tie-breaker Super 100 game will be played afterwards to determine the winner. Last year’s best-of-the-rest winner, Molineux Domino Club, was eliminated at the best-of-the-rest semi-finals stage by Unity Patriots Domino Club.

Earlier it had erroneously been reported that the best-of-the-rest finals would be a one-off game affair, but President of the Constituency Number Seven Domino League Executive Committee, Calvin Farrell, has cleared the air.

Domino action continues tomorrow Tuesday November 5 at 7:30 pm when Saddlers Domino Club and Unstoppable Domino Club meet for the third best of three semi-final games which will serve as a tie-breaker to determine which team proceeds to the finals where they will meet defending champions Parsons Domino Club.

The Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, which is the longest running domino league in the country, is sponsored by Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.
