COVID-19 takes two more lives
An elderly female with comorbidities, and an elderly male without, have become Trinidad and Tobago’s latest COVID-19 casualties.
According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), the death toll has risen to 992 as a result.
In addition, 103 new infections have been recorded from samples taken between July 14 and July 17.
In lighter developments, 36 individuals have been discharged from public health facilities while 123 recovered community cases have been documented.
Thus, the cumulative number of rehabilitated cases have climbed to 29,245 out of the 36,017 individuals confirmed to have the virus in total.
Currently, 5,780 people are battling against the viral respiratory illness.
As of 4 pm, 312 patients are hospitalised – 12 are in ICU and 10 are in HDU.
There are 90 individuals in step-down facilities, 129 in self-isolation and 5,275 in state quarantine.
Meanwhile, 250,291 persons have received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose. Of that figure, 164,978 have gotten both.
To date, 250,060 samples have been tested at public and private health facilities.
