Hon. Shawn K. Richards showing my support for World Down Syndrome Day by wearing two different socks. Why two different socks? Chromosomes are shaped “like socks” and people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome. On World Down Syndrome day, people wear colorful, crazy socks to help create awareness. Let’s show support for #WorldDownSyndromeDay

Dr. Terrance Drew Today, I am rocking my socks inrecognition of World Down Syndrome Day, and I hope you are doing the same. This is a genetic disease where persons have an extra chromosome 21. Children born to mothers older than 35 are at greater risks. Let’s work to create a society where persons affected can lead a full life. It requires us to be compassionate and caring. #RockYourSocks#DownSyndrome
