ST. KITTS & NEVIS WELCOMES H.E. TATANG BUDIE UTAMA RAZAK, NON-RESIDENT AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA TO ST. KITTS & NEVIS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, 24th June, 2022 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation): On 19th June, 2022, Saint Kitts and Nevis welcomed His Excellency Tatang Budie Utama Razak, Non- Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Saint Kitts and Nevis. His Excellency’s visit to the Federation was to present credentials to His Excellency Sir S.W.Tapley Seaton, Governor-General.
His Excellency was accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Marita Fatimah Budie Utama and Mr. Dino Nurwahyudin, Minister Counsellor for Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
During his visit the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Vincent Byron Jr., Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Legal Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Aviation, Education, Youth and Sports of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and met with the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation, Ms. Kaye Bass.
H.E. Razak handed to Minister Byron a copy of his Letter of Credentials, whose original was presented to the Governor-General.
During the dialogue, the Honourable Vincent Byron Jr. extended congratulations to Indonesia’s Ambassador and wished him a successful tenure as he seeks to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. His Excellency pledged to continue the work of his predecessor in deepening the bilateral relationship between Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of Indonesia.
Matters discussed included potential areas for cooperation, inter alia capacity building such as scholarships and training in batik making and designing, handcrafting and designing, and natural disaster mitigation and management. Other matters discussed included Agri-processing and entrepreneurship opportunities, and advocacy at the G20 summit on issues affecting Small Island Developing States such as climate change and climate action.
Saint Kitts and Nevis established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Indonesia on 30th January, 2014. Indonesia is a hub for economic activity in Asia, best known for its Batik Industry and tourism with Bali as its most famous island. It is also a manufacturer of ships and aircraft.
