Today I had the privilege of delivering brief inspiring remarks to the lead nurses within our Federation at the start of a two-day Nurses Leadership Workshop at the CUNA Conference Center.
I thanked them for their bravery and sacrifice and reminded them of the crucial role they play within the healthcare sector.
“You are the backbone of the healthcare system, and your contributions are invaluable. Whether you are working on the front lines of a pandemic, providing comfort to patients and families during difficult times, or supporting your colleagues through challenging situations…you make a difference every day. I want to remind you that your work matters. You make a positive impact on the lives of others, and that is something to be proud of.”
Leadership skills are significantly important for nurses to achieve their goals. Nurses who exhibit strong leadership skills can create a positive work environment and inspire their colleagues to provide the best possible care to patients. Effective leadership promotes teamwork, fosters creativity and innovation, and creates a culture of accountability.
I urge all nurses to keep up the great work and remember your efforts make a difference.
