Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew and Delegation Attend 2023 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund
Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, April 11, 2023 (Press Secretary, PMO): Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, travelled with a small delegation to Washington, DC, on Tuesday 11th April, 2023, for the Word Bank Spring Meetings 2023.
Ms. Naeemah Hazelle, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, and Mrs. Versilie Francis, Director, Fiscal Affairs & Policy in the Ministry of Finance will attend the meetings with Prime Minister Dr. Drew.
The activities for this year are being held in Washington, DC, from April 10 to 16, 2023.
The World Bank Group’s (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, legislators, business executives, members of civil society organizations, and academics to discuss global issues such as the outlook for the world economy, the fight against poverty, economic development, and the efficacy of aid.
Seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and several other events devoted to the global economy, international development, and financial system are also included on the agenda.

While in Washington, DC, the Prime Minister will host a Diaspora Meeting with Kittitian and Nevisian nationals who live in the Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area on Saturday 15th April 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The meeting will take place at the Embassy of Saint Kitts and Nevis, 3216 New Mexico Ave NW, Washington, D.C.
Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew will travel to Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday 16th April for the CARICOM Symposium on Violence as a Public Health Issue – The Crime Challenge”, in his capacity as Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Minister of National Security. He will be accompanied by Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, Ms. Naeemah Hazelle; Permanent National Security, Ms. Cecile Hull; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Sharon Archibald; and Adviser, Ministry of Health, Dr. Patrick Martin.
Hon. Konris Maynard has been appointed Acting Prime Minister in his absence.
