Coach of Newtown Shashi Isaac, said while there are some things to work on, he is pleased with
the win. โWe still have some work (to do). (They) were losing shape; getting out of position, but
we stuck it out, got the goalsโฆwe still have more to improve on,โ he said.
Coach Tyrone OโLoughlin of Cayon said the team played well despite the loss, but they have a
lot of work to do. โMy team played alright tonight, about 70% out of 100 just because of fitness
(issues). At least, they are doing what I taught them on the practice ground,โ he said. He
bemoaned that if a goalkeeping error had not led to the first goal, it might have been a different
game.
Match week 2 which began last week Thursday in Nevis, saw Queen City defeating Bath United
2-1, MFCR Old Road United Lady Jets crushing Garden Hotspurs 19-0 and Newtown United
defeating Village Superstar Ladies 7-1. ย The latter two matches were played at the SKNFA
Technical Center.
