UPDATE ON SPECIAL OLYMPICS 02
Today I caught up with our swimming and cycling athletes. Team SKN swam relay and 50m qualifiers. The competition is stiff but we continue to represent to the very end.
Our cycling duo were on track training with their coaches this morning. They finished cycling qualifiers with similar times and will likely be placed in the same heat to compete in finals on Friday.
The semis and finals get into swing from tomorrow so let’s keep rooting and praying for our Special Olympics athletes! We are happy to have SKN represented in four events – Athletics, Tennis, Swimming and Cycling – during this year’s Special Olympics World Games.
Sports proves to be an avenue that facilitates inclusion and integration of persons with (intellectual) disabilities and it’s been awe-inspiring to witness the capabilities of these athletes.
