A PATH TO SUSTAINABLE PROSPERITY

Hon Samal Duggins stated it was an absolute pleasure to deliver the welcome remarks at the side event of the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), centered around the theme of “Revitalizing SIDS Economies & Food and Nutrition Security through Sustainable Use of Marine Resources.”

This seminar provided a platform for engaging in an interactive multi-agency discussion on the sustainable utilization of living marine resources, with a particular focus on the crucial role of aquatic foods, including fish and other seafood, in the post-COVID revitalization of the economies of SIDS, especially those in the Caribbean region.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this significant discussion, and I look forward to seeing the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in charting a course towards a brighter and more sustainable future for SIDS.
