SKNFA HOSTS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP
In a bid to fulfill its capacity-building mandate, the St. Kitts Navy Football Association, the
SKNFA, hosted a customer service and communication training workshop on Saturday, February
1st at Football House. General Secretary of the SKNFA, Techell McLean, outlined the objectives
of the workshop. “To provide a better service to our customers both internally and externally, the
St. Kitts Nevis Football Association Council, headed by the President, Atiba Harris, has
embarked on capacity building when it comes to our staffing,” she said.
“We started a capacity building workshop, the communication and training session, which is
geared at customer service-oriented staffing. In this training workshop, it will help you to deal
with customers. Everybody’s not going to be happy every single day, but it will help you in
regards to coping; the coping mechanism of dealing with customers and always knowing that
first impression is a lasting impression.”
The SKNFA Gen Sec outlined the goals of the workshop. “What we at SKNFA are hoping to
achieve is ensuring that when our customers come in, both internally and externally, they feel
that environment of welcoming,” she said, adding that the SKNFA plans to host similar training
workshops in the near future. “This is the first of many for the month of February. We’re doing a
lot of training. We’re doing training in security. We’re doing training in regards to our member
clubs… highlighting them or explaining to them the processes of all the programs that we offer,”
she disclosed. “We want to ensure that when our customers come in, be it at the administrative
headquarters, which is our HQ, or at Warner Park, that they have that feeling of being a part of
something, of being a part of the greater picture, which is football in St. Kitts and Nevis. We
want to provide that environment of feeling wanted…motivated, engaging, all those kinds of
things is what we are looking at.” The staff members that participated in the workshop include
administrative staff from the SKNFA and members of the local organizing committees of the
various SKNFA competitions.
