Citizen Security Secretariat Launches First Better Opportunity Fair on Central Street
Basseterre, St. Kitts — The Citizen Security Secretariat will host its first Better Opportunity Fair on Friday, 30th May, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Central Street, Basseterre.
This dynamic community event will bring together organisations such as ASPIRE, the Inland Revenue Department, local business operators and several health and wellness providers offering free screenings and public education. The fair aims to connect residents with resources in skills training, mental health support, financial guidance, and youth development.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, entertainment will be provided by acclaimed local talent DJ Tero, ensuring an engaging experience for attendees of all ages.
Coordinator of the Citizen Security Secretariat, Eartha Carey, said the fair marks a critical step toward empowering communities through direct access to information and support:
“We’re taking opportunity to the people — creating safe, accessible spaces where community members can connect with services that can truly change lives. This is what citizen security looks like in action.”
The Better Opportunity Fair is the first in a monthly series that will continue through August, rotating across various communities in both St. Kitts and Nevis.
