SKNFA HOSTS SUCCESSFUL GIRLS U14 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL
The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) hosted an exciting Girls U14 Football
Festival on Saturday, May 31, at the National Bank Group of Companies Technical Center in St.
Peters. The event featured four teams: St. Peters FC, St. Paul’s United FC, Village Superstars,
and Newtown United, showcasing the growing enthusiasm and talent in girls’ football across the
Federation.

The festival, part of the SKNFA’s ongoing efforts to develop youth and women’s football, also
served as a key scouting opportunity in preparation for the upcoming Caribbean Football Union
(CFU) Girls U14 Tournament, scheduled to begin on August 15 in Trinidad and Tobago.

Coach Earl Jones, who is helping lead the developmental efforts, highlighted the purpose of the
festival: “Well, there’s the CFU (U14 Girls) tournament in August. The first game is on the 15th
of August. So we are looking to put a team together to basically travel to Trinidad and Tobago to
compete in that tournament,” Jones said. He also shared that there are plans to include U13
players in friendly matches. “I’m looking to see how they handle themselves playing. I’d like to
see the girls, how they develop their technique in terms of playing games on the field,” he said.
The round-robin competition culminated in a thrilling final between St. Paul’s United FC and St.
Peters FC. After a competitive match, St. Peters FC emerged victorious with a 2-1 win, claiming
the championship title.

The SKNFA Girls U14 Football Festival represents a key initiative under the SKNFA Executive
Council’s mandate to promote youth development and increase participation in girls’ football
nationwide. The Association remains committed to providing more opportunities for young
female players to grow and compete at higher levels both locally and regionally.
