Community Urged to Join Search for Missing Teen, Janelika Romney
Basseterre, St. Kitts – The community of New Guinea and the wider public are being called upon to assist in the ongoing search for 15-year-old Janelika Romney, who has been missing since Monday, June 16th, 2025.
Janelika, a student of Verchilds High School, was last seen around 3:40 PM on Monday wearing her school uniform. She is described as brown-skinned, slim-built, approximately 5 feet tall, with brown eyes and black locs.
In response to her disappearance, a community-led search party will be held on Saturday, June 21st at 6:00 AM, beginning at the New Guinea Boat Yard. Citizens from across St. Kitts and Nevis are encouraged to participate and help in the urgent effort to bring Janelika home.
“I’m asking the entire nation to stand with Janelika’s mother, Kaleighlia Isles Stevens, and the family in this difficult time,” said Hon. Samal Duggins, Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #4. “Let us do what we do best—come together as a community, protect our own, and help find this young girl.”
The public is reminded that any information, no matter how small, can be helpful. If you have seen Janelika or have any knowledge of her whereabouts, please contact the nearest police station immediately. All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
