Unstoppable surge ahead as defending champions Parsons falter in Constituency #7 Domino League
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 30, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Parsons Domino Club, defending champions in Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, suffered a humbling defeat at home at the hands of former champions Unity Patriots Domino Club on Sunday evening September 29 which will certainly see the champions slip in point standings.
The game between Parsons, the first team from outside Constituency Number Seven to have won the championship, and former champions Unity Patriots Domino Club was supposed to have been played on Tuesday September 24 at Back Way Bar in Parsons Ground, the home of the champions, but it did not take place due to a power outage.
When the two super clubs met for the rescheduled game on Sunday, Unity Patriots who would have of late lost a number of games they ought not to have lost were not in a compromising mood and led from the start at one time leading 7-0. The home team put up a spirited, but unfortunately late, fight back and at the end of the game Unity Patriots won the game 13-6 denying the champions any points from the encounter.
In the second game played on Sunday evening this year’s top contenders Unstoppable Domino Club, who at the end of the first round of this year’s edition (24th) of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League finished only two points behind the champions, squeezed a narrow 14-12 win over Christchurch Domino Club at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.
This is a game the Christchurch players have themselves to blame for losing as they were ahead in points for the better part of the game, but for unknown reasons slackened and Unstoppable lived to their name and won the game.
President of the Executive Committee of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, Calvin Farrell, has said that the committee will have to meet to determine the fate of the third game that was not played on Tuesday September 24 between Saddlers Domino Club and Small Corner Bar Domino Club.
Domino action in the second round of the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League continues on Tuesday October 1 with five games in the third segment of play at four venues.
Defending champions Parsons will travel to Molineux where at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion they will meet Molineux Domino Club, while Saddlers will remain at home to entertain Giants at Shanty Bar in Saddlers Village. The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project will host two games, between Sylvers and Small Corner Bar, and between Guinness and Christchurch. Unity Patriots will be at home hosting Unstoppable at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project.
