Mr Stanley Knight sentence to a 2 years suspended sentence and to pay the victim $10,000 in 3 months time.
What is a suspended sentence?
A suspended sentence is a sentence on conviction for a criminal offense, the serving of which the court orders to be deferred in order to allow the defendant to perform a period of probation. In this case, the period of probation is 2 years. So he cannot offend the law over the next 2 years. If he offends the law anytime during this period and ends up back before the court, the court can now revoke the order and he will go to prison serve the 2 sentences.
