ST. KITTS AND NEVIS GEARING UP FOR 2023 CPLT20

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 21, 2023 (SKNIS): The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is gearing up for the 2023 edition of the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 (CPLT20) tournament, which will feature six men’s matches at the Warner Park cricket stadium.

The first match at Warner Park will feature the home side St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots versus the defending 2022 CPLT20 champions Jamaica Tallawahs. In anticipation of the slate of games, the owner of the Patriots franchise, Mahesh Ramani, and team manager, Dario Barthley, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Sports, the Honourable Samal Duggins, at his office at Port Zante. Director of Sports, Jeffrey Hazel also attended Friday’s (April 21, 2023) meeting.

Discussions centered on the team’s preparation for the August 16 to September 24 tournament, preparing Warner Park for the Patriots’ August 23 to 26 home games, and hosting entertainment and family-themed events.

Director Hazel said the meeting was fruitful, and both parties were excited about the cricket team’s development.

The tournament will also be contested by the Saint Lucia Kings, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
