Four Kittitian Cricketers Selected For CWI Under-19 Women’s High-Performance Camp Ahead of 2027 World Cup

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 18, 2026 (PMO) – St. Kitts and Nevis is celebrating another significant achievement in youth sport, with four young Kittitian cricketers selected by Cricket West Indies (CWI) for an elite High-Performance Camp as preparations intensify for the 2027 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Zara Skerritt, Aaliyah Weekes, Leanga Warner and C’Quinya Dasent are among 22 of the region’s most promising female Under-19 cricketers selected for the two-week programme. Significantly, the four young women comprise all of the players selected from the Leeward Islands, giving Saint Kitts a strong presence among the emerging talent being assessed and developed for possible West Indies representation.

Drew- Led Government Continues Practical Interventions to Ease Cost-of-Living Pressures on Families

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 18, 2026 (PMO) – As persistent inflation, elevated prices and wider global economic uncertainty continue to place pressure on households across the Caribbean and beyond, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis is maintaining a proactive approach to protecting families and strengthening their ability to withstand external economic shocks.

The recently launched 2026 Back-to-School Voucher Programme, which provides EC$250 for every eligible child, represents the latest in a series of targeted interventions by the Drew-led Administration aimed at reducing household expenses and placing additional financial resources directly into the hands of families.
