ST. KITTS AND NEVIS’ PRIME MINISTER UNVEILS PLAQUES HONOURING UWI’S 70 OUTSTANDING ALUMNI

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, October 11, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – The names of seventy (70) of the most outstanding men and women to have graduated from the University of the West Indies (UWI) are now forever immortalized at the University’s Cave Hill Campus in Barbados after plaques were unveiled in their honour.

The plaques bearing the names of all seventy alumni were unveiled by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, with assistance from Dr. Lilith Haynes, following the ceremony to honour the 70 outstanding UWI graduates who have made significant contributions in public service, the medical and legal fields, academics and economic development.

PRIME MINISTER HARRIS PARTICIPATES IN CARIBBEAN WEEK OF AGRICULTURE EVENT IN BARBADOS

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, October 11, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – While on an official visit to Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris took time out of his busy schedule to grace the official opening ceremony for the 15th Caribbean Week of Agriculture being held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Prime Minister Harris attended the prestigious regional event as a special guest of Barbados’ Prime Minister, the Honourable Mia Mottley, with whom he held bilateral discussions with prior to the ceremony.

PRIME MINISTERS HARRIS AND MOTTLEY HOLD HIGH-LEVEL DISCUSSIONS ON MATTERS OF REGIONAL CONCERN

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, October 11, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris and Prime Minister of Barbados, the Honourable Mia Mottley, sat down for high-level bilateral talks on Wednesday (October 10) aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and improving conditions of small island developing states (SIDS).

The meeting between Prime Ministers Harris and Mottley was held at the official residence of the Prime Minister of Barbados located at Two Mile Hill, St. Michael. Also present during Wednesday’s discussions was Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Public Affairs, Senator the Honourable Lucille Moe.
