THIRTY POLICE OFFICERS SHARPEN THEIR SKILLS IN FIRST AID AND CPR

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 04, 2018 (RSCNPF): Some thirty (30) Police Officers from both St. Kitts and Nevis are better prepared to respond to emergencies and save lives after participating in a one-day First Responders Training Workshop held recently. The session covered the basics of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). The officers came from several police units, however, most were drawn from the Special Services Unit and the Drug Unit.

POLICE INVESTIGATING WOUNDING WITH INTENT INCIDENT

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 05, 2018 (RSCNPF): A Wounding with Intent incident which occurred on February 02, 2018 is currently being investigated by the Police.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing on Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Cayon Street and Rosemary Lane. Investigations so far have revealed that Deondre Edinborough of Parry’s Estate, St. Peters was at Rosemary Lane with a friend when a group of men attacked them. While trying to run away he was stabbed multiple times. He was transported to the J.N.F. Hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed as being in a stable condition.

Persons with information regarding this incident are urged to contact the Basseterre Police Station by dialing 465-2241 or the nearest police station. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.

CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATORS COURSE BEGINS WITH FIRST COHORT

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 06, 2018 (RSCNPF): A nine-member cohort is currently taking part in a Crime Scene Investigators Course which officially began on Monday, January 05, 2018. It is being hosted by the Forensic Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Headquarters. The six-week course will be facilitated by the Head of the Forensic Department at the RSCNPF, Narace Ramnarine, and Nigel Bedeau who also works in Forensics in Trinidad and Tobago.

POLICE INVESTIGATING STABBING INCIDENT IN NEWTOWN

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 06, 2018 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating a stabbing incident in the Newtown area which occurred on January 04, 2018.

Preliminary investigations revealed that 52-year-old Trevor Mulrane of Mad House Alley, Newtown was asleep in his bed when an unknown assailant stabbed him. He was taken to the J.N.F. Hospital and treated for his injuries.

FORENSIC PATHOLOGIST REVISES SHAQUILLE PEMBERTON’S CAUSE OF DEATH

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 06, 2018 (RSCNPF): The Police issued a press release on February 03, 2018 which relied on the report provided by the Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Valery Alexandrov regarding the death of Shaquille Pemberton. His initial report indicated that Mr. Pemberton’s death was as a result of natural causes.
