TDC reports EC$12.9 million in pre-tax profit, mixed performance in several departments

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 25TH 2017 – Although making a pre-tax profit of EC$12.9 million for the year 2016/2017, the TDC Group of companies is reporting mixed performances in several departments. The company made a profit of EC$5.4 million in 2016.

In its annual report sent to shareholders ahead of its Annual General Meeting on July 31st 2017, TDC reports good performance in the Automobile Divisions (St. Kitts and Nevis), City Drug Store(Nevis) Limited and TDC Business Centre (St. Kitts); FINCO, TDC Airline Services Ltd and TDC Services (Nevis) Ltd.

Blogger “Obi” Powell reports police officers upset over long wait for increased pay promised by PM Timothy Harris

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 25TH 2017 – The Federation’s respected blogger, Washington DC-based Everton “Obi” Powell said Tuesday there is there is widespread discontent from many in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force “because the promised overtime pay has not been forthcoming from the UNITY government.”

Powell, who says his information came from “two very reliable sources inside the Royal St. Kitts-Nevis Police Force,” disclosed that officers “are so upset that they have resorted to contacting the Obi the Biggest Baddest Blogger (obtheBBB) to get their grievances aired.”

Glenroy Blanchette warns building new BHS on aquifer will risk valuable water source, cause flooding

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 24TH 2017 – East Basseterre resident, Mr. Glenroy Blanchette said Monday he is troubled by the decision of the Timothy Harris-led Team Unity Government to build a new Basseterre High School (BHS) on the Basseterre Valley Aquifer.

“The risks to life and property are too great. This is the right time for the government to adopt the precautionary principle and do not build on the Aquifer. To do otherwise will create untold hardship for present and future generations. A word to the wise is enough,” warned Blanchette, a lecturer at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).

I therefore have no intention of throwing my hat in the ring,” said director, Mr. William “Willie” Liburd, a former National Bank chairman, who served in that position during the tenure of the PAM administration headed by former Prime Minister The Right Excellent and the Right Hon.
