Douglas expresses sympathy to Joseph family;
Concern over disturbing trend of businessmen killed

CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS, AUGUST 22ND 2017 – Monday’s death of Nevis businessman, Benjamin Joseph, shot by a lone gunman last Saturday 19th February is the fourth businessman to be killed this year.

A businesswoman was murdered in 2016 and five businessmen were killed in 2016, according to statistics.

US Treasury Department slaps IPSA with a US$259,000 fine

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 22ND 2017 – The United States-based IPSA International, the company that Les Khan left to take up his appointment offered by St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris as the new head of the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Programme, has been slapped with a US$259,200 fine by the Washington-based Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

A record run-chase at Providence Stadium by Guyana Amazon Warriors overshadowed a superb century from Dwayne Smith in Match 19 of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL). After Smith’s brilliance had lifted the Tridents to 159 the Amazon Warriors chased the total with four balls to spare.
Chasing a record 160 at Providence Stadium demanded efficient use of the Powerplay by the Amazon Warriors and a combination of wayward lines from the Tridents and clean hitting from Chadwick Walton and promoted opener Sohail Tanvir gave them that.

Geoffrey Boycott: West Indies a ‘ cricketing tragedy’

Cricket legend Geoffrey Boycott has called the West Indies cricket team ‘the worst Test match in the last 50 years’, adding that their most recent defeat at Edgbaston was ‘embarrassing’.
According to a report from Cricbuzz, the former English cricketer and commentator said the team’s slide is a ‘cricketing tragedy’.
