Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 25, 2023 [Ministry of Health] — The JNF General Hospital experienced a temporary interruption in its water supply during the morning hours of Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from approximately 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The disruption was caused by a procedural fault that occurred during routine maintenance efforts.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 23, 2023 [Ministry of Health] — The Ministry of Health in St. Kitts continues its dedication to providing high-quality healthcare to its citizens, residents, and non-nationals at its health institutions. In pursuit of this commitment, the Ministry is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on the completion of a Crisis Intervention Workshop. This workshop took place from Thursday, October 19th, to Saturday, October 21st, 2023, however; it was extended to Monday, October 23 due to the passage of hurricane Tammy.

Vector Borne Diseases including Dengue.


The Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis recently experienced an increase in rainfall associated with the passage of Tropical Storm Philippe. Increase in rainfall is often associated with an increase in mosquito vector levels and an increase in risk of spread of mosquito related diseases such as Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya. The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has reported an upsurge in laboratory confirmed cases of Dengue in the region and Dengue outbreaks have been reported in three CARPHA member states.
