ST. KITTS AND NEVIS WORKS TO ADDRESS IMPACTS OF LAND DEGRADATION THROUGH LAUNCH OF PROJECT
 
Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 21, 2019 (SKNIS): The importance of sustainable land management is the focus of a new project to be launched in St. Kitts and Nevis” on Tuesday, February 26 at the Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI) titled “Addressing Impacts of Acute Land Degradation in the College Street Ghaut in St Kitts and Quarries and Sand Mining Hotspots on Nevis.
 
The Department of Environment is the lead agency with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).  St. Kitts and Nevis is one of ten participating countries in the Integrating Water, Land and Ecosystems Management in Caribbean Small Island Developing States (GEF-IWEco Project).

Prime Minister Harris encouraged by high turnout for the latest PM’s Health Walk

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, February 4, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Health-conscious walk enthusiasts from across the island left the comfort of their beds Saturday morning February 2, and before sun rise had assembled at the Bellevue bus stop to join Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris on the latest edition of Prime Minister’s Health walk.

The monthly event was initiated in April 2007 by Dr Harris, who is the Area Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Seven. The health walk, which is a means of promoting healthy lifestyles, would normally see the participants traverse the entire constituency from Bellevue and end at the Ottley’s hard courts.
