Baby Friendly accreditation by PAHO: JNF General Hospital unveils mural

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 14, 2025 (JNF Hospital Communications) — To serve as a reminder of its unwavering support for mother and child, and its having been Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) certified, the Joseph Nathaniel France (JNF) General Hospital has unveiled a ‘Baby-Friendly’ mural at the maternity ward.

“We are pleased to have this mural that is showcasing the fact that not only are we a baby friendly hospital, but we also promote breastfeeding which is one of the key components which allowed us to become a baby friendly hospital in the first place,” underscored Director of Health Institutions within the Ministry of Health, Dr Jenson Morton.

Four Cuban medical students on Summer Employment Programme at JNF Hospital

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 6, 2025 (JNF Hospital Communications) — Four of the Federation’s illustrious students studying at the University of Havana in Cuba are currently at the JNH General Hospital for acclimatisation with the St. Kitts and Nevis medical system, courtesy of the annual Summer Observership Employment Programme.

Emergency services enhanced at the JNF Hospital with employment of new EMTs

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 15, 2025 (JNF Hospital Communications) — Emergency services at the Joseph Nathaniel France General Hospital have been enhanced significantly with the employment, on Monday July 14, of eleven individuals who had earlier in the year undergone a rigorous eight-week Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Training.

Local mental health programme gets support from the Republic of China on Taiwan

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 15, 2025 (JNF Hospital Communications) — Under the auspices of the Mental Health Service System Enhancement Project of the Taiwan ICDF in St. Kitts and Nevis, two psychiatrists from the Taipei Veterans General Hospital are in the country on a five-day visit where they are expected to evaluate, among others, work being done on the psychiatrist ward at the JNF General Hospital.
