Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 5, 2022 (SKNIS): On December 1, the World observed the 34^th World AIDS Day since the United Nations instituted the commemorative day in 1988 to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, to mourn those who have died from an AIDS-related illness, and to provide the opportunity for all of us to join in the fight against the disease.

Today, December 3^rd marks the annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The United Nations defines disability as any long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment, which may hinder an individual’s full and effective participation in society on an equal basis. In St. Kitts and Nevis, four major causes of disability are recognized. These include learning disorders, behavioural/developmental disorders, diabetes-related amputations and physical injuries or rare medical conditions.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 17, 2022 (SKNIS) – The Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship as part of its Global Entrepreneurship week 2022 celebrations held a CannaBiz panel discussion on November 16, 2022. During the panel discussion, Attorney General the Hon. Garth Wilkins spoke to the existing laws that deal with the regulation of Cannabis and the Government’s plans for the industry moving forward.
