OFFICER CHARGED FOR TRAFFIC-RELATED OFFENCES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 21, 2018 (RSCNPF): Constable Lennox Hodge of the Nevis Division was formally arrested and charged on Thursday, September 20 for two traffic-related offences.
He was charged for Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and for Driving Without Insurance. He was driving a privately owned vehicle at the time of the incident. He is expected to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate Court today, Friday, September 21. Additionally, he will face disciplinary action as well. Further, as in all cases when an Officer is charged with an offence and put before the Court, Constable Hodge is also expected to be suspended from duty with half pay until the matter is disposed of at the Court.

POLICE INVESTIGATING INCIDENT AT FRIARS BAY
Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 18, 2018 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating an incident in which a man died while at sea Monday morning (September 17).
The incident occurred at Friars Bay at the South East Peninsula. Preliminary investigations have revealed that 60-year-old Paul Mitchum of Cayon experienced difficulty while at sea on Monday and was pulled out of the water by a family member. The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was called and was unable to revive Mitchum after performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The District Medical Doctor was summoned and Mitchum was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy is expected to be performed shortly. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

POLICE SEIZE LARGEST AMMUNITION AND SECOND LARGEST FIREARM FIND IN THE FEDERATION
Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 12, 2018 (RSCNPF): Three (3) persons are in custody following the largest ammunition and second largest firearm find in the Federation.
Police conducted an operation in Keys Village Wednesday (September 12) morning. While approaching a premises in the area they saw four (4) males in a yard. The men began running when they saw the Police approaching. The Police pursued. While chasing the persons, one (1) individual threw what appeared to be a bag over a wall. Upon inspection, the bag contained what appeared to be pistols and a large quantity of ammunition. During the chase of another individual, Police came across another bag. Upon inspection, the bag contained what also appeared to be pistols, a quantity of marijuana and a large amount of assorted ammunition.

Police Find Bag With Guns and Ammunition in Keys area.

Police on Wednesday discovered a bag containing several guns and a large quantity of ammunition in the Keys area.
Reliable source revealed that the bag contained at least 3 handguns and multiple bags of ammunition.
Several persons were taken into custody in relation to the find.
