SKN POLICE DISCOVER INDOOR HYDROPONIC MARIJUANA GROWING OPERATION

On Mon. (May 29) officers discovered an indoor hydroponic marijuana growing operation in a vacant house located in Lambert’s, St. Kitts.

According to police, officers on a crime prevention and citizen safety patrol searched a vacant property and discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation.

Two McKnight Men Charged For Shooting Incident At Football Match.

 

St. Kitts and Nevis (May 30); Two men from the McKnight area have been charged with the shooting incident that happened during a football match at Warner Park on Saturday (May 27) that left one person injured.

Charged are Lewis Powell and Dequan Maloney of Upper Shaw’s Avenue.

The men stand charged with causing grievous bodily harm and making use of a firearm to commit a felony.

National Crime Reduction and Prevention Strategy

Cabinet at its meeting of 12th May 2017 considered the Report of the National Crime Reduction Symposium held on 9th February 2017 and the Follow-up Workshop in Nevis on 2nd March 2017, and approved in principle the emerging National Crime Reduction and Prevention Strategy. The symposium brought together about 200 representatives of stakeholder groups and organisations, including representatives of the Clergy, the private sector, youth and other community interest groups, government departments, the Police and other security forces, who listened to a presentation by Dr. Neals Chitan on Twelve Roots of Crime that are influencing criminal activity in the Federation and elsewhere. Following the presentation, stakeholder representatives identified those roots of crime that were germane to their organisation or profession, and outlined strategies that they are prepared to implement to reduce the effects of those roots of crime that could be addressed through the work of their respective organisations.

Illegal sale of driver’s licences now under police investigation.

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, May 30th 2017 – A month after several persons were arrested for defrauding the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, another investigation is being launched into reports of the illegal sale of driver’s licenses on both islands.

Police Inspector Carl Caines who heads the Traffic Department in St. Kitts confirmed the investigation on Traffic Talk on local radio WINN FM’s Breakfast Show on Monday.

POLICE CONTINUED VIGILANCE NETS ILLEGAL FIREARM AND ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE (105) ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 20, 2017 (RSCNPF): Continued hard work by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police in efforts to remove illegal firearms and ammunition from our communities is continuing to yield positive results. Overnight Officers of the Special Services Unit (SSU) removed another illegal firearm and over one hundred rounds of ammunition from our communities.

As part of the increased Operational Tempo officers executed a number of search warrants and other searches on Friday night (May 19) and early Saturday morning (May 10).  The searches netted one (1) illegal firearm and a total of one hundred and five (105) rounds of ammunition.
