SOURCE: CNN — The United Kingdom is entering its most challenging weeks since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, a top official said Monday, as hospitals face being overrun and morgues fill up.“We’re now at the worst point of this epidemic for the UK. In the future we will have the vaccine, but the numbers at the moment are higher than they were in the previous peak — by some distance,” England’s chief medical officer Chris Whitty told the BBC, adding that he expects the next few weeks to be the “most dangerous time.”

(CNN)Twitter has suspended President Trump from its platform, the company said Friday evening.”After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter said.”In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action.”

Fingerprint authentication moves from phones to payment cards

Visa pilot in the U.S. and Europe enables fingerprints on cards to authenticate transactions.

Payment cards are gaining new capabilities as Visa has launched a pilot of a new dual-interface (chip- and contactless-enabled) biometric payment card with Mountain America Credit Union and Bank of Cyprus. This will be the first pilot in the U.S. to test an on-card biometric sensor for contactless payments.
