MAJOR POINTS FROM THE PRIME MINISTER’S ADDRESS TODAY (JUNE 11TH 2021)


1) There were 11 positive cases on Wednesday (June 9th) and 25 positive cases on Thursday (June 10th), bringing the total number of cases to 155.

2) 61 persons have fully recovered, 94 cases are still active, 4 persons have been hospitalized and 1 person is very ill.

Over the past few weeks, our beloved Country has been faced with an outbreak of a cluster of cases brought on by the coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused so much havoc across the world. As a result of this outbreak, certain restrictions had been introduced in our Federation to curtail the transmission of the virus, such as a limited curfew and regulations governing public transport.

HIGH COMMAND MOVES QUICKLY TO CONTAIN SITUATION FOLLOWING FIRST CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE AMONG STAFF


This week, the High Command of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) was notified of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 among staff. The individual, a civilian who works at Police Headquarters, was immediately placed in isolation. The person is in a stable condition and is being supported and monitored. Following the advice of the authorities from the Ministry of Health, several other members of staff were quickly placed in quarantine in an effort to contain the situation. These persons have been tested and their first test results have all returned negative.
