Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 09, 2019 (SKNIS): At the 2019 International Women’s Day (IWD) Awards Ceremony on March 08 at Government House, Minister of State with responsibility for Gender Affairs, the Honourable Wendy Phipps, reflected on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal of “Planet 50/50 by 2030” and encouraged women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M) fields.

St.Kitts & Nevis National Football Team Player Mr.Gerard(Molongo) Williams, who is also a Professional Football Star in Trinidad&Tobago Pro-league, and lastly the captain of W Connection Football Club where he led his team to victory winning the 2018 TT PRO-LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP CUP.

MISSING TEEN LOCATED

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 08, 2019 (RSCNPF):Fourteen-year-old Lerika Moses who was reported missing has been located.

 With the assistance of members of her family, the Police were able to find Lerika and took her into Police custody. She is unharmed and in good health. The Police will work along with Child Protection and Probation Services to further their investigations.

 

The Police would like to thank all the persons who assisted with this matter.

ST. KITTS-NEVIS SPECIAL OLYMPICS TEAM HEADS TO ABU DHABI FOR 2019 SUMMER GAMES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 07, 2019 (SKNIS): Thirteen athletes from St. Kitts and Nevis accompanied by their coaches and other officials departed the RLB International Airport for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 06 to participate in the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games to take place from March 14 – 21.

Chair of the Board of Directors for Special Olympics St Kitts and Nevis, Ms. Clarice Cotton, said that the team was very lucky this year to gain sponsorship from the government in the form of air fare to and from the UAE for the athletes, and donations from other agencies for uniforms and other expenses.
