St. Maarten U-17 football tournament: Development Bank is Bath United FC’s platinum sponsor

Charlestown, NevisMay 10, 2019 (DBSKN) — The Under-17 team of the Nevis-based Bath United Football Club left from the Vance Amory Airport in Nevis for St. Maarten Friday morning, May 10, to take part in the 2nd Willful Skillful Sports Club 17-and-Under Football Tournament, and it is thanking the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis for back-to-back sponsorship.

“The Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, which also sponsored the team last year when we participated in the inaugural Willful Skillful Sports Club 17-and-Under Football Tournament, supports the youth,” said Team Manager, Mr Jermaine Bartlette. “Over the past years the bank has been sponsoring the team tremendously – they are actually one of the platinum sponsors to the team.”

Nursing staff are vital for making progress towards universal health

Nurses make up more than 50% of health workers yet, in many countries of the Americas, shortages persist. New PAHO guidelines seek to strengthen their role in achieving health for all.

Washington, DC, 8 May 2019 (PAHO)- Today, at the launch of the Strategic Directions for Nursing in the Region of the Americas, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) called on countries to invest in nurses to improve their availability, distribution and roles in order to advance towards universal health.

Nursing staff represent the largest health workforce, accounting for more than 50% of health workers. Despite this, however, the lack of nurses in most countries in the Region compromises the global goal of achieving health for all by 2030.
