Florence Now a Storm With Hurricane Potential; Another Storm Could Form Later Today

FLORIDA, United States, Friday September 7, 2018 – Hours after being upgraded to a Category 4 hurricane, Florence was back down to tropical storm status, but forecasters say it will likely get stronger over the weekend as it gets closer to Bermuda.

Florence intensified yesterday evening, but by 11 a.m. today, it was a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds down to 65 miles per hour.

POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING INCIDENT AT NEW ROAD

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 07, 2018 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at New Road on Thursday (September 06) night. 

Police received a report of a shooting incident at about 10:40 p.m. and responded. Preliminary investigations have revealed that 58-year-old Edward Ryan of Fiennes Avenue was sitting in his car in the area of Charles Halbert Street when two armed men approached him. They opened fire and he was shot several times about the body. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. 

Technicians from the Forensic Department visited and processed the scene and took items of evidential value into Police custody. Persons with information regarding this incident are urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit by dialing 467-1887/1888 or 662-3468. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Reports reaching this media source that it has been alleged that a man about 58 years old was shot dead in a small white car.
