ST. KITTS AND NEVIS AND CARLETON UNIVERSITY SIGN HISTORIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT
Ottawa, Canada (1 November 2019) – At a signing ceremony in Ottawa, High Commissioner Sherry Tross and Dr Benoit-Antoine Bacon, President and Vice Chancellor of Carleton University inked a Memorandum of Understanding to pursue collaboration in education, research and capacity building and to promote bilateral and international understanding.

The MOU, the first of its kind between the university and a government, comes after seven months of discussions geared toward expanding engagement in Ottawa beyond the traditional government to government dialogue and to partner with centres of excellence in areas that are mutually beneficial.   The Memorandum of Understanding envisions education and research opportunities, training and joint projects in areas such as innovation, diplomacy, climate action and workforce development.

NEDD DIRECTOR CALLS FOR LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE SERVICES OFFERED BY THE SBDC

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 01, 2018 (SKNIS): Entrepreneurs are encouraged to take full advantage of the many services that will be offered at the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) of the National Entrepreneurial Development Division (NEDD), which will be launched in the upcoming weeks.

“NEDD was established as a creature of the Small Business Development Act, which is the framework set up to deal with the small business sector in the Federation,” said Director of NEDD, Philip Browne while appearing on the Government’s Weekly Programme, “Working For You,” on October 31.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 01, 2018 (SKNIS): The three-member team of the Integrity in Public Life Commission took their official Oath of Office, Allegiance and Secrecy today, November 01, 2018 administered by the Registrar of the High Court, Mrs. Janine Harris-Lake in the presence of His Excellency the Governor General, Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton at Government House.

“I would like to welcome everybody to Government House as we take another step towards operationalizing, in the formal sense, the Integrity Commission,” said the Governor General.

IN YOUTH MONTH ADDRESS, DEPUTY PM RICHARDS INVITES THE NATION TO UPLIFT YOUNG PEOPLE

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 01, 2018 (SKNIS): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Youth, the Honourable Shawn Richards declared Youth Month 2018 officially open on Thursday (November 01) and called on all citizens and residents to seize the opportunity to uplift the nation’s youth.

Youth Month is celebrated in St. Kitts annually in November.

“The month allows us, as a nation, the opportunity to collectively recognize the achievements of some of our outstanding young citizens across numerous disciplines. It also affords us the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to creating an environment that recognizes their value, enables their growth and empowers them to recognize their fullest potential as productive and patriotic citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis,” Minister Richards said, during a televised address.
