VHS Newsline- The Guidance & Counseling Department of the Verchilds High School launched its Health & Fitness week this morning with an excellent presentation from Mr. Morris the Head of Physical Education Department at the VHS. Mr. Morris educated the staff and students about health and the importance of exercising. The aim of the Health & Fitness week is to sensitize students to their need to be fit and healthy, to identify ways to achieve optimal health, to raise the awareness of the importance of teen mental health, to highlight lifestyle disorders that affect adolescents, to allow for students to know their health status, and to sensitize male and female students to gender sensitive sexual health issues Other activities during the week includes:
Tuesday- Exercise Morning (Students and teachers will be allowed to wear track suits for the entire day)

Wednesday- Ask the Doctor- Dr. Yannic Henry- Healthy Eating

Thursday- Ask the Dentist

Friday- Me & My Sexuality &VHS Fruit Festival

Corruption within the Dr Timothy Harris-led government of St. Kitts and Nevis has been significantly highlighted in the United States Department of State’s Annual Human Rights Practices for 2017.

The report was officially made public last Friday 20th April by the United States Acting Secretary of State, John Sullivan.

ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25TH

 

Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris is pleased to once more update citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis on matters of national interest.

The Honourable Prime Minister’s monthly press conference will be held on Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 from 10:00am in the Parliamentary Lounge at Government Headquarters.

The press conference will be broadcast live on national media and attended by the press corps who will ask questions for the benefit of the listening and viewing public.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS) will stream the press conference live on Facebook Wednesday, April 25th, starting at 10:00am.  Prime Minister Harris’ press conferences are always streamed live on www.facebook.com/sknismedia/

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 23, 2018 – The concern by lawyers for Leader of the Opposition, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, not to allow documents in a trial proceeding to be handled by officers of the High Court, highlights a grave public concern since Timothy Harris-led Team Unity Government assumed office in February 2015.
