Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 26, 2017 – The Team Unity Government of St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris has failed to deal with the present day problems in the twin-island Federation.

A caller to Freedom 106.5 FM popular talk show “Issues,” is questioning the silence of the Minister of Finance on the damming report from the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) on the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank.

Whilst attending a community get together in Cane Garden last night, I received an urgent call that our beloved Charlestown Secondary School was on fire. I rushed to the scene and was pleased that our fire services responded early enough to control the fire before it consumed the entire school. I warmly congratulate our fire services team for their quick action.

Grenada Cuts Price for Economic Citizenship, Removes Contribution Requirement For Parents

St. Georges, Grenada, November 22, 2017 – The price war started by St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris in the Caribbean’s Citizenship by Investment Programme continues with the race to the bottom.

According to Investment Migration Insider, Grenada is the latest with the Chairman of Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Committee, Kaisha Ince, announcing during the 11th Global Residence and Citizenship Conference in Hong Kong last week, the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP) will see some significant changes before the end of the year.

ECCU expects deterioration in the fiscal performance of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda and the Commonwealth of Dominica due to hurricanes 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 25, 2017 – The St. Kitts-based Eastern Caribbean Currency Union has received the Governor’s Report on Monetary and Credit Conditions in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) as at 30 June 2017.

The report, received at the 89th Meeting of the Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) via videoconference, on 20 October 2017, assessed recent trends in monetary and credit conditions, within the context of the bank’s broader objectives of ensuring the stability of the exchange rate and the financial system.

According to the communiqué, “Council was apprised that there is likely to be deterioration in the fiscal performance of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda and the Commonwealth of Dominica, in the short to medium term, as a direct consequence of the impact of Hurricane Irma on Anguilla and Antigua and Barbuda and Hurricane Maria on the Commonwealth of Dominica. As a consequence, the council noted, that the hurricane affected countries may need some flexibility in their debt servicing arrangements.”
