Jamaican Condiment Manufacturer Gets Foot Back in Canadian Market

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Thursday March 16, 2017 – Jamaican condiment and seasoning manufacturer King Pepper Products Ltd. has re-entered the Canadian market.

The company, which was joined by six other Jamaican manufacturers at a Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO)-led trade mission to Canada last year, was able to secure a distributor for its Eaton’s line of products, and recently received its first container order to Canada.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Thursday March 16, 2017 – The International Monetary Fund is not on the agenda of the Barbados Government, an adamant Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has declared.

On the heels of warnings from his predecessor Owen Arthur that the stressed economy urgently needs a helping hand from the Washington-based financial institution to stave off a $3.3 billion debt crisis, Stuart dispelled the notion that the island was so poorly off that it had no other option.

Exxon Mobil Could Be First To Start Pumping Oil in Guyana Waters

THE EXXON MOBIL RIG IN GUYANA’S WATERS.

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Thursday March 16, 2017 – American oil giant Exxon Mobil Corporation is moving full steam ahead with plans to transform Guyana into a major oil producer.

In what industry experts call a rare occurrence in the industry, Exxon Mobil has asked the David Granger administration for a production licence to start pumping oil from the country’s seabed, less than five years after it discovered major oil finds.

Guyana Geology and Mines Commissioner Newell Dennison yesterday confirmed the application to the Associated Press, saying it would be the first time the small South American country has issued an oil and gas licence.
