The number of deaths from COVID-19 has risen to 81.

A 70-year-old Barbadian woman died yesterday afternoon at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility after spending nine days in primary isolation. She had a pre-existing condition and was unvaccinated.

Minister of Health and Wellness Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic has extended sincere condolences to her family and friends. (BGIS)

A total of 218 new COVID-19 cases (92 males and 126 females) were recorded by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday, October 2.  The facility conducted 2,176 tests.

5 more COVID-19 deaths; 2,000 more fully vaccinated

The Ministry of Health has recorded five more COVID-19 related deaths, however the vaccination rate continues to increase.

In today’s update the Ministry of Health said the five COVID-19 related deaths were three elderly males and one elderly female with comorbidities and one elderly female without comorbidities, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,505.

The Ministry said additionally 159 more people tested positive for the virus, bringing the number of active cases to 4,217. The total number of positive cases recorded stands at 51,243.

Two deaths, 57 new COVID cases in St Lucia

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Sunday, October 3, 2021, confirms a total of 57 new cases of COVID-19.

These cases were processed on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 134 samples which were collected between October 1 and October 2, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 42.5% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 11, 693.
