PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The government of Sint Maarten is paying keen attention to the development surrounding the more contagious British, South Africa and South America variant of the corona virus. As a result, a travel ban on persons traveling from those countries is now in place. That is according to the Honorable Minister with the responsibility for TEATT, Ludmila de Weever. This was necessary in an effort to safeguard citizens.

A 48-year-old Barbadian woman is the 11th person to die from COVID-19, the fourth in just over a week.

According to the Ministry of Health, she died earlier Wednesday at the Harrison Point isolation hospital where she was a patient for just under two weeks.
