Los Chapiadores win Latin Festival Softball tournament championship
Basseterre, St. Kitts (October 14, 2019) — Of the seven teams from St. Kitts and from Nevis that participated in the 2019 Latin Festival Softball Tournament, Los Chapiadores of St. Kitts emerged the champion in a thrilling final played on Sunday afternoon October 13 at the New Town Playing Field.

ST. CROIX — Tucked away on a piece of land in Aureo Diaz is the construction of a massive soccer (football) stadium that is being built and is scheduled to be completed no later than April, 2019 if the weather holds. The facility, owned by the U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Association, is being fully funded by FIFA, and will facilitate both pro local and international FIFA matches, according to association officials. The stadium comes complete with seating for 600 people, changing rooms, showers, along with media and medical areas, according to Coach Darryl Rogers, a member of the association.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell broke down what LeBron James, the second-highest-paid player in the NBA this season, made from his $33 million contract. While it’s still quite a big number, based on Rovell’s estimate, it’s less than half of that figure.

Barshim and Thiam named 2017 Athletes of the Year
He won the world title in impressive fashion, clearing all of his heights up to his winning mark of 2.35m on his first attempt. One week after his triumph in London, he jumped a world-leading 2.40m in Birmingham and followed it four days later with a winning jump of 2.36m in Zurich to secure the IAAF Diamond League title.
Barshim ended the 2017 season with nine of the best 11 jumps in the world this year, capped by his two 2.40m leaps. He is the first high jumper in history to leap 2.40m or higher in five successive years.
