Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 26, 2019 (SKNIS): Ahead of the 30th Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Chairman of the Conference of the Heads of Government of CARICOM and Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, along with other CARICOM Leaders, met with Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, on February 25 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

ST. KITTS’ SIXTH EXPLORERS CLUB LAUNCHED IN LODGE VILLAGE
LODGE EXPLORERS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 19, 2019 (SKNIS): The Lodge Explorers Club was launched on February 17 at the Violet Petty Primary School, making it the sixth Explorers Club to be commissioned in the Federation, adding 72 children to the hundreds of community explorers in St. Kitts and Nevis. At the launch, a website and Facebook page for the group were also unveiled.

Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, congratulated the new Explorers, noting that they are the present and future of the society and he has confidence in their abilities to deliver.

FATAL ACCIDENT IN CHICKEN STONE BEING INVESTIGATED

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 06, 2019 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday (February 05).

It involved motor bike P922, which was owned and ridden by Stuart James David of New River Estate, and pickup truck P2948, which is owned and was being driven by Orville Bartlette of Cole Hill, Gingerland. Investigations so far have revealed that motor bike P922 was traveling from Gingerland heading towards Charlestown, while pickup truck P2948 was traveling in the opposite direction. Upon approaching Chicken Stone P922 and P2948 collided. David was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 44 years old.

 

One person is in Police custody assisting with investigations into the incident.
