PAHO Directing Council ends with agreements to reduce the shortage of health personnel and prevent diseases in the Region

Washington, D.C., 27 September 2018 (PAHO/WHO) – The 56^th Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) ended today following a week of discussions about health priorities in the Americas. During the meeting, new plans of action were approved to reduce the shortage of health personnel; to strengthen measures to prevent vector-transmitted diseases; to improve the health of women, children and adolescents across their life course; and to reduce by 30% the number of cases and deaths due to cervical cancer in the Americas by 2030.

World Food Day: Development Bank partners with Department of Agriculture  

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 2, 2018 (DBSKN) — The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis joins the rest of the world in observing World Food Day on Tuesday October 16. But for a country that places food security high on its agenda, the Federation will be observing an entire week of activities. The Department of Agriculture is thanking the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis for partnering with it, to make the observation a more rewarding one.
