MR. ROBERT JEFFERS, FORMER COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, TO BE LAID TO REST FRIDAY WITH FULL MILITARY HONOURS

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JANUARY 23RD, 2018 (PRESS SEC) — Mr. Robert Jeffers, former Commissioner of Police, will be laid to rest with full military honours, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris announced today, Tuesday, January 23rd, during the first sitting of the National Assembly for 2018. The former Commissioner of Police died Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at the age of 70.

DOUGLAS EJECTED FROM NATIONAL ASSEMBLY. ATTORNEY-GENERAL ANNOUNCES THE FILING OF CONSTITUTIONAL MOTION FOR HIM TO VACATE PARLIAMENTARY SEAT OVER DOMINICAN PASSPORT

Basseterre, St.Kitts (Janaury 23rd, 2018) Attorney-General Hon. Vincent J Byron Jr. has announced that a case has been filed in the Court regarding the eligibility of the Leader of the Opposition Dr. Denzil Douglas to sit in the National Assembly as a member. AG Byron announced a series of actions that led to the filing of an application to the High Court seeking declarations that the Leader of the Opposition is no longer eligible to continue sitting as a Representative in the National Assembly, and that he should be required to vacate his seat.
