BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 4, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Sports,

the Honourable Shawn Richards, was among the dozens who visited the Robert L Bradshaw International Airport on Tuesday, April 3 to warmly welcome the Federation’s athletes home after a successful campaign at the 2018 FLOW CARIFTA Games in the Bahamas over the Easter weekend.

LET’S TALK GANJA !!- COMMISSION KICKS OFF SERIES OF GANJA FORUMS IN ST.PETERS

The St. Kitts & Nevis ( National) Marijuana Commission will be hosting a series of town hall
meetings throughout the Federation. The purpose of these meetings is to engage (you) the
people, share the facts and latest evidence regarding the medical, social and economic
implications of marijuana use and ascertain your position on these complex issues.
The first town hall meeting will be held on Thursday April5,2018 at 7:00pm at the Anglican
Church Hall in St. Peters, St. Kitts.
We are inviting you, who live in the St. Peters community to come out, bring along relatives and
friends and be informed about the issues related to the use of marijuana. We are encouraging you
to come out and share your views. ALL are invited to participate in this national debate .

CUBAN SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE – DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER RICHARDS ENCOURAGES CITIZENS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Shawn K. Richards has announced that once again The Government of the Republic of Cuba is making  available  six scholarships for citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to pursue studies in Cuba.

Two scholarships are available in Medicinal Sciences, one for a Bachelor of Higher Education Career, one in Health Technologies (Bachelor’s Degree), and two in Medical Specialties (for local graduates from the Latin American School of Medicine who work in public health institutions in St. Kitts and Nevis).

Premier pleased with NIA’s achievements in first 100 days

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – Premier of Nevis the Honourable Mark Brantley says he is pleased with the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) achievements under his leadership since taking up office 100 days ago. He promised to continue to keep their commitment to the people of Nevis moving forward.

“For 100 days it has been pretty packed with activities and we continue to make best efforts to ensure that we give our people the type of representation that they voted for,” Brantley said. “And we continue to keep our commitment set that we have made in our manifesto and during our campaign…I feel that we are doing the right things in creating the type of environment and the type of ethos for our island that will see all of our people engaged in trying to build Nevis and advance Nevis. If we can achieve that, I think we would have done well.”
