RSS COUNCIL OF MINISTERS MEETING TO BE HELD IN ST. KITTS AND NEVIS, GREATER COLLABORATION HIGH ON AGENDA

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 15, 2017 (RSCNPF): Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley and Commander of the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force, Lt. Col Patrick Wallace will accompany Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. The Honourable Timothy Harris at the upcoming RSS Council of Ministers meeting to be held in St. Kitts on Friday (March 17).

The gathering of the Council of Ministers is one of the essential and critical meetings mandated by the Treaty and conducted by the RSS, in order to meet its objectives. The Council of Ministers is the Supreme Policy Making Body of the RSS. It is comprised of Ministers responsible for National Security or Defence in their respective countries

Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris in his capacity as the Minister of National Security in St. Kitts and Nevis currently serves as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. His tenure will end at this meeting and Chairmanship will be turned over to the Sen. Hon. Hermangild Francis, the Minister of National Security in St. Lucia.

The Permanent Secretaries with responsibility for National Security and Defence within the member States will also attend.

Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley says, “this meeting affords an opportunity for all the RSS Security Heads to also interact and discuss security matters of concerns in member territories, and the sharing of best strategies to address them.”
