St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); Police have formally charged the person taken into custody for the burglaries and sexual assaults reported in the West Farm and Camps areas two weeks prior.
According to police the man was charged with two counts of Burglary and two counts of a sexual offence in relation to the March 13 incidents.
Police have not released the individual’s name in accordance with the law as it relates to offences that are sexual in nature.
The Police High Command has praised the investigators and forensic team for the charges being brought, saying it was a result of good investigative work and forensics analysis.
Coming out of the local courts, a number of persons were granted bail for various criminal charges.
Dion Paul of Cayon who was charged with Possession of Cannabis was granted bail in the sum of $5000, and Glenford Percival of New Road who was charged with Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply was also granted bail in the sum of $5000. Both are to return to court on May 8th.
Ziron Battice of West Street, Newtown who was charged with the offence of Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm, was granted bailed in the sum of $25,000.
The young man also has to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Monday and Friday and to have no contact with the virtual complainant.
WINN FM understands Battice was arrested and charged after he viciously beat a female who had an altercation with his girlfriend on March 22nd.
In matters at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court Glenroy Henderson of Wingfield Road, Old Road who was charged for wounding, was found guilty and fined $3000 to be paid by April 27, or in default serve one month in prison.
