Police Station forces out workers
Charlestown, March 1, 2018 โ A report that another Federal Government-owned institution in St. Kitts and Nevis has been affected by mole.
According to a reliable source, the CCTV division in Nevis, which is housed in the Charlestown Police Station, has been abandoned as a result of the presence of mould.
The source said the workers who have been complaining for some time, were sent home after several of them fell ill. Another source said lesions have broken out on the skins of some workers.
Government departments and institutions on St. Kitts recently affected by mole are the Burdon Street Campus of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), and its Division of Technical Vocational Education and Management Studies located on Horsfordโs Road, the Department of Labour and the Ministry of Tourism on Port Zante.
After several denials that the Department of Labour was contaminated, Minister of Labour Hon. Vance Amory and his Acting Permanent Secretary, Ron Collins, bowed to public pressure from the Labour Party caretaker for St. Christopher 8, Dr. Terrance Drew and was relocated to another location.
At the CFBC, the office of the president has been relocated to a container in the yard of the main campus and the building which houses the offices of the Dean, the receptionist, the information technology manager, the webmaster and the guidance counsellor has been deemed unfit for habitation by the Department of Health and closed since October of last year.
