Unstoppable halts Phillips’ winning streak in Constituency #7 Domino League

 

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 9, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — The highly competitive 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition entered a defining moment on Thursday August 8 when the only unbeaten team met its waterloo.

The short yet very significant unbeaten run by Phillips Domino Club in the first round of the longest running domino league, which is sponsored by Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, came to an abrupt end at the hands of Unstoppable Domino Club in a game played at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux.

Phillips Domino Club surprised many when in its second segment game of the first round it humbled the defending champions Parsons Domino Club by soundly beating them 13-6. In the first encounter the team won by default when Molineux failed to honour their scheduled fixture, while in the third segment of play they beat Saddlers 13-6.

In the encounter on Thursday evening August 8, Unstoppable won the game 13-7 effectively ending the unbeaten run by Phillips. It means that all the eleven teams taking part in the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League have now suffered a loss. Molineux Domino Club is the only team that is yet to win a game.

In other games on Thursday evening, Unity Patriots beat Small Corner 14-11 in an encounter at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project; Giants floored Christchurch 13-6 at Domino House in Mansion; Defending champions Parsons beat Molineux 13-10 at Back Way Bar in Parsons Ground; and Sylvers beat Saddlers 13-7 in a game played at Tacky Bar, Hidden Alley in Lodge Village.

After four segments of play in the first round of the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, Unstoppable has 19 points from three wins and one loss; Phillips has 18 points also from three wins and one loss; Guinness, Small Corner, and Saddlers all have 12 points each; Sylvers and Unity Patriots have 11 points each; Giants and Parsons seven points each; Christchurch has six points; and Molineux has one point.

Fifth segment will be on Tuesday August 13 at five venues. Unstoppable will meet Molineux at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux; Small Corner will be travelling to Shanty Bar in Saddlers to me meet the home team Saddlers; Sylvers will be at home to Unity Patriots at Tacky Bar, Hidden Alley in Lodge Village; Also playing at home will be Guinness who will meet Parsons at Bernett Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village; while Phillips and Giants will square it off at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.
