138 new COVID-19 cases in St Lucia

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Saturday, September 4, 2021, confirms a total of 138 new cases of COVID-19.

These cases were processed at the Ezra  Long Laboratory on Friday, September 3, 2021, from a total of 513 samples.
These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 9025.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 113 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19  bringing the number of active cases in country to date to 2337.

Two of these active cases are currently critical and eleven of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 34, 998 individuals have received the first dose of the Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 28, 100 have received the second dose.

For the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine 4, 195 individuals have received the first dose and 72 individuals have received the second dose.

Individuals can access the COVID-19 vaccine at the vaccination sites and wellness centres around the island and this service are free of charge.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness will continue providing daily updates to the public as new information becomes available.
