One hundred and one people, 39 males and 62 females, have been identified as COVID-19 positive by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. The facility conducted 2,827 tests on Saturday, September, 4.
The new cases comprise 72 persons who are 18 years old and over, 26 under the age of 18, and three individuals whose ages are unknown.
The number of people in isolation is 506.
There have been 5,349 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2,649 females and 2,700 males) since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. The virus has claimed 51 lives.
To date, 273,090 tests have been carried out by the laboratory.
Public health officials have administered 115,060 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccines as part of the National Vaccination Programme. Meanwhile, 95,351 people – 39,707 males and 55,644 females – have been given second doses and are, therefore, fully vaccinated. This figure represents 35.2 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
