INDEPENDENCE MESSAGES POUR IN FOR ST. KITTS & NEVIS’ 38th ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 17, 2021 (SKNIS): Congratulatory messages from around the world are beginning to come in for St. Kitts and Nevis as the twin-island Federation celebrates its 38th Anniversary of Independence.

The latest messages received via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from friendly countries include the Republic of San Marino, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Republic of Korea.

Their Excellencies the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino, Gian Carlo Venturini and Marco Nicolini, expressed to St. Kitts and Nevis’ Governor-General, His Excellency Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, best wishes to the “friendly people of Saint Kitts and Nevis.”

The letter read: “On this special day, please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of our highest consideration and our sincere greetings for your personal success and for a prosperous and auspicious future for all the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis.”

In his message, His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, highlighted the continued success of the local health authorities and government, in the fight against COVID-19.

“Once again in 2021, the world has been grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic and all its difficult repercussions. I am glad that Saint Kitts and Nevis continues to be successful in its efforts to combat the pandemic and to effectively protect its population. I also very much hope that your country will be equally successful in tackling the economic and social consequences of this global crisis.”

Meanwhile, His Excellency Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea, extended warm wishes.

“I hope that the friendly ties our two countries have cemented so far will grow stronger in the years to come and that the exchanges and friendship between our people will also be further deepened,” he wrote to Sir S.W Tapley Seaton, Governor-General of St. Kitts & Nevis. “Please accept, Your Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and continued success in all your endeavours as well as for the everlasting prosperity of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.”

St. Kitts and Nevis gained political Independence on September 19, 1983.
